SOCIAL MEDIA

 PETPLATE

PetPlate, a subscription based human-grade dog food company, approached me to join their team as a freelance Social Media Manager. They were looking to create a more cohesive looking instagram feed that reflected their business and their mission, grow their followers across channels, and to engage more with their consumers. I loved working with PetPlate because this was an opportunity to concept a new aesthetic for their social and made sense to their business, from scratch. Plus, who doesn’t want to run an Instagram about dogs?

  • I implemented a strategy focusing on clean, professional looking user generated content, aggregated through influencer partnerships as well as asking permission to post.

  • I also focused on a blue, yellow, and white color scheme that felt light, airy, and minimalistic as the key elements for our content. Why? Dogs aren’t completely colorblind. The only two colors dogs can see are blue and yellow, and therefore connected us to every consumer’s dog on a deeper level. It also matches the packaging of the product — specifically designed so every pup recognizes the shipment they receive as their food, generating excitement in the dog’s personality, and potentially gives us more user generated content.

  • I also focused on content (a mix of UGC and organic content) bringing the narrative to first person as if the dogs had a say in the conversation. I felt it was important to personify them in a civilized tone to bring life to the small moments of living with a dog, and to be able to have a thoughtful conversation between the dog and the reader.
